bio: I'm Beatrice. I also go by Triss, and I use she/her pronouns. I'm a trans Xicana musician living in Oakland. I've been playing guitar for 15+ years. I studied Music at Cal, and I've been working with youth since 2016, including as a volunteer w/BAGRC. My favorite genres are punk, metal, and pop!
location: I live in West Oakland, and can host lessons at my house or travel to the student's home.
bio: With over 10 years of playing experience, I'm comfortable teaching various styles on both acoustic and electric guitar for all experience levels. My current band blends jazz and R&B styles. I've been teaching music informally for two years, and I first volunteered with BAGRC in the summer of 2017.

bio: I have taught private lessons for 8 yrs in the greater Bay Area. I have toured all over the US, Europe, and New Zealand with different bands. My teaching approach is about affirmation, positivity, personal growth and creativity. I have volunteered with BAGRC for 10 years, and love it!

bio: I’ve played acoustic and electric guitar for 20 years, as well as playing in a dreampop/punk band and a bluegrass guitar duo. I’ve taught guitar to youth from ages 8 to 18, beginner to intermediate, at Bay Area Girls Rock Camp and Girls Rock After School Program in Oakland.

bio: I love keyboards! I've played rock keyboard since 1981, played & taught piano, rock keyboard, harpsichord, & drums. I've been in a number of rock bands (several all female). Since 2011 I've taught rock keyboard at BAGRC. You can make powerful keyboard lines and parts, from very simple bits!

rate: @ Mountain Music (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat), monthly rate = $170 (cash/venmo/non-fee-based payment) ; west oakland rates vary and scheduling is limited. Will consider sliding-scale options for lower income folks with proof, basic at-home rate in west oakland is $35 per 30 minute lesson, $30 each if you pay in advance. Trial lessons available, as well. 1-hour lessons are $60.

bio: I started teaching music in high school in 1998 and have been doing it ever since! Despite achieving an art degree, my passion lies in sharing my greatest love & passion - MUSIC. I moved to Oakland in 2014 and started working for Acme Music in 2016 & volunteering for my first BAGRC program in 2017.

bio: As a bass instructor and bass support person with BAGRC, I have focused on ways to keep beginning students engaged in learning music. I adjust bass lessons to fit a student's learning style. My goal is to help learners build strong foundational skills while staying enthusiastic and motivated.
