location: I live in West Oakland, and can host lessons at my house or travel to the student's home.
bio: With over 10 years of playing experience, I'm comfortable teaching various styles on both acoustic and electric guitar for all experience levels. My current band blends jazz and R&B styles. I've been teaching music informally for two years, and I first volunteered with BAGRC in the summer of 2017.
rate: $25/half hour, $40/hour
location: East Bay, in home of student or teacher
bio: I’ve played acoustic and electric guitar for 20 years, as well as playing in a dreampop/punk band and a bluegrass guitar duo. I’ve taught guitar to youth from ages 8 to 18, beginner to intermediate, at Bay Area Girls Rock Camp and Girls Rock After School Program in Oakland.
rate: Serious sliding scale, negotiable (I am happy to give a first lesson free)

bio: I love keyboards! I've played rock keyboard since 1981, played & taught piano, rock keyboard, harpsichord, & drums. I've been in a number of rock bands (several all female). Since 2011 I've taught rock keyboard at BAGRC. You can make powerful keyboard lines and parts, from very simple bits!

location: I presently do the bulk of my teaching for ACME music @ 4444 Piedmont Ave, Oakland. I have limited availability for in-home lessons. Would make hardship exceptions to Girls Rock attendees on scholarship/aid, schedule permitting.
bio: I started teaching music in 1998 and have been for the better half of 20 years. I teach privately, primarily, though since moving to Oakland, I've taken on group KEYS instruction roles at Thornhill Elementary, in addition to my work for BAGRC. I am delighted to also contribute to BAGRC as Band Manager.

bio: As a bass instructor and bass support person with BAGRC, I have focused on ways to keep beginning students engaged in learning music. I adjust bass lessons to fit a student's learning style. My goal is to help learners build strong foundational skills while staying enthusiastic and motivated.
