Peer Mentor Program
2019 marks fifth year of our Peer Mentor program (formerly known as the Internship Program) at Bay Area Girls Rock Camp! Peer Mentors will gain leadership & work experience while continuing to build musical skills, make new friends, and help us further the BAGRC mission.
Girls Rock After School Program (GRASP)
January 7th 2020 - March 14th 2020
Tuesdays and/or Thursdays 4:00pm - 6:00pm*
*Flexible schedule depending on availability
Malonga Casquelord Center for the Arts, Downtown Oakland
Instrument mentors will work closely with the instrument instructor to support campers and assist in the classroom. Duties will include leading games, instruction, teaching curriculum, and supporting students both one on one.
Band mentors work closely with band coaches and/or band managers to assist the formation and development in the band. Duties include leading games, ice breakers, one-on-one support, advice, and assisting campers as needed.

Be 15-18 years old at the start of camp
Have attended two or more programs at BAGRC
Demonstrate responsibility, reliability, and a dedication to the mission of Bay Area Girls Rock Camp
Attend a Peer Mentor training session before camp
Attend the day-long volunteer training before camp
Be able to volunteer time outside of the session for either a moving day or showcase support
Strong communication; able to respond to emails and phone calls within 10 business days
