Who is Ladies Rock Camp for?
Women age 19+ can register. NO MUSICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY, just a desire to rock! If you've ever wanted to be in a band, if you've always wanted to learn an instrument or improve the skills you already have, if you'd like to have fun being creative with other women--Ladies Rock Camp is for you. No excuses--You are never too old, and we know you are busy so Ladies Rock is just a weekend, packed with music and fun. It is a place to let loose and make loud, original, rockin' music together. The capacity is limited to 50 women, with admissions on a first come, first serve basis. Participants come away as empowered women and musicians, and get the opportunity to support a younger generation of creative girls!
What happens at Ladies Rock Camp?
The weekend is modeled after our Girls Rock Camp. Participants learn/practice instruments, form bands, write an original song, attend workshops, and perform in a live concert...all in three days! Food, movies, parties, performances and other surprises make it a weekend not to be missed! This is a perfect chance to dust off an old guitar, pick up a microphone for the first time, or add a new drum beat to your repertoire. • Instrument instruction- Instruments we offer are guitar, bass, drums, keyboards and vocals. All experience levels are welcome. Instruction is held in small groups and led by experienced, enthusiastic female musicians. • Band Practice- Participants form bands on the first day and spend the weekend collaborating to write an original song • Workshops- Workshops are relevant to women and music. Some possible topics are Self-defense, Songwriting, Music Business, Rocking Moms, and Live Sound. • Showcase- On sunday afternoon, band performs their songs at a live venue for family, friends and the public! • Other fun activities! Parties, games, movies, karaoke and other activites bring out our playful energy and motivate us throughout the weekend. We let loose, hang out, get to know each other and have a raucous time!
